A new brand and visual identity for the Scouts goes live today, focusing on skills for life as our key benefit. As well as making it easier to talk about Scouting, we are introducing a new logo, colour palette, free brand font and tone of voice. The changes come seventeen years after the last major overhaul of the Scout brand, and coincides with the launch of a new five year strategy: Skills for Life: Our plan to prepare better futures.

I would like to invite you to join us for a Weekend Camp at Hallowtree from the 10th- 12th August 2018. The aim of the camp is to allow Young Leaders from around the District to get together and enjoy a weekend of activities and socialising. This will be your camp, if you would like to help organise it please let me know and we will create a mini exec for the camp, so you are able to decide what you do, in true spirit of Youth Shaped Scouting. The roles on the exec will be Chair, Treasurer, Quartermaster, Catering and Activities, if you are interested in any of these roles please indicate on your form. I am aware many of you may have exams, which are your priority, and so I do not expect us to meet until these are over.

Once again we will be running a district coach trip to this wonderful day out. If you have not been before you really should consider it, if you have I’m sure you will want to come again. There is so much for the children to do all day including such things as climbing, abseiling archery, grass sledging, fun fair, aerial runways, high ropes, rafting, water slides, fishing, bouncy castles and loads more; all of this is included in the admission price.

I am pleased to let you know that the launch on Saturday of 2018 council was very successful. The day began with 2017 members testing the project with 2018 Cubs. The lasertag event was a great success and enjoyed by all. Watch out for details via District/Hallowtree very soon. This is open to all Hallowtree users from age 6.
